Certainly you knew that Portrait Shoppe specializes in children's portraits, but did you know that we are one of the few studios that also specializes in pet portraits, or as we like to call them, "paw-traits."  We know how much you love your pets and how special they are to your family.  They are more than your pet, they are a family member.

 It is hard to believe that we are only a week away from September.  The year is quickly passing by!  September is going to be a fun-filled month here at the studio.  We have so many great and exciting activities and giveaways planned!

1. Can you say FREE?!?  During the month of September we are giving away a free CD slide show of the images from your session with any purchase.  What a great way to share your child's images with friends and family!
2. Star Kids Winners!

The Star Kids Modeling Contest to benefit the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital has been in full swing for the past three months. This was the 7th annual Star Kids Modeling Contest and we are so pleased to announce that, with the help and support of all our wonderful participants and sponsors, we were able to donate three times what we donated the year previous. We had so many adorable, cute, beautiful and handsome entrants! We here at the Portrait Shoppe are so excited for all our category winners and are thankful to the great people at Images Modeling Agency for judging the images for the 7th year. It has been a wonderful journey for us all. Without further adieu, may we present the category and overall winners...

Back to school...for parents!

 It's back to school time...for the parents!  Here at the Portrait Shoppe we are very excited about our first ever Photography Class! 

On September 18 our photographers will be helping you hone your skills in photography, giving you tips and tricks to make your home photography look more professional.  The seminar will be here at our studio in Fayette Plaza from 11-12:30, or whenever lunch is finished (yep, we are providing lunch!)  Due to the size of our studio, we have to limit the class enrollment to 10, so RSVP as soon as possible by sending us an email, writing a note on our Facebook wall, or sending us a note through our website.

Playin' Around

 I remember, as a kid, running around in a party dress, wearing my mom's high heels and a pillow case for a veil, pretending I was "going to the chapel and gonna get married."  I would turn the living room upside down, draping sheets from the couch to the chair to the coffee table, creating my own personal castle.  I would play pretend for hours!

Now that I have children of my own I watch them and smile as they run around in their dress up clothes pretending to be firemen or cowboys or scary monsters.  They run around our house whooping and hollering, laughing all the while.  The sweet innocence of children playing is such a wonderful thing.  Sometimes I get in on the act and pretend with them, but usually they make me the bad guy...go figure!

Is it your child's dream to be a cowboy or a mermaid or a fairy princess?  We would love to help your child realize that dream.  Our Imagination portraits were made to capture those moments of pretend play where the possibilities your child sees are endless.   After all, the Portrait Shoppe is the place "Where a Child's Imagination Becomes Reality."
